I shouldn't call it a nightmare but Ike has definately turned our world upside down...being at work for more than 36hrs, I left to see robert, he had been up all night as well running calls. we were exhausted then we received the best phone call ever...we had power!!! That was such a BLESSING. We received minimal damage, the fence blew over and we had some water in the house but nothing significant. We decided to drive to Brenham to get Addison on Sunday because we had power...that was a horrific drive...took three hours to get there and another couple to get back, but our family was complete again...yeah. Then we took in some electricity deprived friends so we have a houseful, and we are now running out of food. grocery stores are open but are pretty bare on the shelves. gonna try again tomorrow to see if they have received some supplies. we have no cable or internet and the phones aren't working correctly so we feel like we are disconnected from the rest of the world.(i'm at work again so i'm connected...it feels good, but i'd rather be disconnected at home with the family)
i hope each and every one of you are safe and had little or no effect from this hurricane and for those of you that did, i hope the recovery phase is good to you...
the hospital has been a disaster zone, we lost all power, even generator on more than one occasion and that was just terrible, we had to turn people away for whatever they came in for because we just couldn't provide care...and then there were the idiots...go figure there would be those that just didn't prepare at all.
1.can we charge our cell phone here. (really, we can't even keep people's ventilator going, do you really think we have the power to charge your phone)
2.can we eat in your cafeteria(really, they have us on such ration that we are all eating the same crap for every meal, we have to be here and you want to steal our food)
3.can i use your restroom(idiots, take a crap in your own yard, we can't flush ours either)
4.do your vending machines work? (i'll leave that one alone)
5.is your pharmacy open(that was was pretty valid...i'll leave that one alone)
6.can we use your plugs for a while to watch a move(idiots)
i can't think of anymore right now...
until next time...
