The end of our vacation...

It has been one action packed week. We have made our way home and are doing a ton of laundry and getting things back to normal. I last posted when we got home from the Mets vs Astros at Shea Stadium. The next day we didn't to much of anything but take the kids to the park a couple of times. They love going to the park up there. It is really the only thing you can do when you're a kid in the middle of a bustling city.

Wednesday, we took the subway into manhattan and went to central park. We walked all day, went to the zoo, and to the carnival. The kids went nuts over the rides. Even Addison loved it. She is a daredevil these days.

We went to the Yankees vs Redsox that night. We again had terrible seats, but to see the history in these amazing stadiums and watch that rivalry was awesome. Robert wore his Yankees hat but wouldn't let me where my Redsox hat...ended up being a good idea. As the game wore on and the blood alcohol level increased, the words started flying. Several people were thrown out of the game and one lady was arrested in front of her husband and son after going after the cop. it was crazy.

Thursday, we met up with one of robert's friends who is FDNY, he took us to his firestation. We really enjoyed seeing the old firehouse. We even chased down the firetruck going to a fire. There was no fire but we saw them in action. Mike was going to take us into manhattan to see some of the stations there, but all his friends were off playing golf. maybe next time. He then took us to his volunteer station around his house. Nothing like Ponderosa. Most of you have never seen Ponderosa but it is top of the line...This place blew them out of the water...flat screen tv's everywhere, lounges that looked like they belonged in a country club, and to top it off, a full service bar...stocked with everything for the members to enjoy whenever they want...i've never seen anything like it...

Thursday night, we went to coney island to watch a minor league baseball game. yes, i am baseballed out for the time being if any of you are wondering. It turned out the be better than both the major league games. The crowd was really into the game and it was a beautiful, cool night with the ocean in the backround.

i put up a slide show of most of the things we did...til next time.

Dancing in Brooklyn...

After bath time, these two started jamming together. we turned on some good old texas country in the heart of brooklyn and they started dancing. it lasted longer than i recorded, but as soon as i get my camera, they stop. Nick is only 6 yrs old, he is so tall, you'd think he was 8 or 9.

Taking off for the first time...

Addison's first plane ride...she did great...loved most of the ride and didn't fuss much. i wish i could have videod the fight home. it was terrible. she screamed most of the flight. we tried everything but nothing calmed her down. the people around us must have been ticked but no one said anything to us and i didn't care...like we would ever see them again. i just wanted to figure out what was wrong with my princess...and it was nothing but fatigue and bordom...

The cousins...

Our second day in nyc, we have been in brooklyn with kelly, frankie, frankie jr, justin, and nickie...true new yorkers, everything you can imagine about this city, wrapped up in a family of five. these are addison's cousins, twins that are 9 and the little one is 6. they have been gracious to open there homes to us considering most houses are small here. they are fortunate to have a 5 bedroom apartment. they own the building and converted two apartments into one. we have been having a great time and addison is in love with these boys, who just can't get enough of her. the first thing we did when we arrived was eat pizza...it's so different here and soooo much better. we took the kids to the park, shopping, walking around, and got a true tour of manhattan last night. the whole island. today we were pretty lazy, we took the kids to have there pictures taken together because this was the first time they have met each other.

tonight we went to the mets vs astros at shea stadium, unbelievable to see that piece of history that will be torn down at the end of the season. we lost terribly so it wasn't too much fun. we were all decked out in our astros gear and they were dressed to the t in mets gear. we didn't get razzed to much, and wouldn't you know that my husband in a city with millions would run into someone he knows. i tell you it's a small world.

take care, i'll try to post again before the trip is over...and i can't get many good pics with my phone so the photos won't be top quality until i get home.

Off we go to the BIG APPLE...

We leave for vacation in the morning, with out little one in tow, to the big apple for a week. i'm really excited but very nervous about taking addison on a 4 hour plane ride. i have done a ton of reading on how to entertain her for that long. i've bought new toys, tons of snacks, and the old trusty benadryl...unfortunately, it doesn't make her drowsy, so we will keep it on the back burner and give it a shot...so we are going to see the mets and astros play, then to see the yankees and the redsox play. we are so excited. i'm trying to find a broadway play to go see but i want to see all of them, i just can't pick one. i'll try and post while we are there and put some pictures up...have a good week.

Camping with Nana and Pops

Addison went camping with nana and pops last weekend but i just got the pics today. she had a great time and kept them busy running around outside, swimming, and going for walks. she didn't want to come home. i don't think nana wanted her to come home either. i can't wait to go camping with her so i can see what it's like to chase her around a camp ground.

The new baby

Dana and I went shopping last week to get Addison new toys for our trip next week and dana got her the newest "favorite toy." She walks around the house chewing on her hands and feet. she hugs the baby and tells her thank you for who knows what. nana thinks it's funny because i used to have a monkey and it was holding a banana and i walked around all day with the banana in my mouth. here she is hamming it up for the camera.

Walking the edge

Our little one is afraid of just about everything but this was hilarious...she knocked over the baby gate between the living room and the kitchen. I wish i could have gotten to the camera faster. she was at a loss. she had no idea how to handle this obstacle. she attempted several other ways but this is how she mastered it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUBBY!!

Robert turned 29 yesterday and a bunch of us went to the Astros game. We had a great time seeing Biggio's jersey retired from the highest altitude possible...it was scary how high we were. The air conditioning was dripping on us throughout the ceremony so we decided to breath easier at a lower altitude and enjoy the game from behind the first level. It was great, we had such a good time...didn't see much of the game except Wiggington's home run, turned out to be the only good part of the game. I told everyone next year, everyone can throw in $10 for there ticket and i'll just buy a bunch of beer and watch the game from home...long drive to drink expensive beer and stand around talking. Thanks to everyone who came with us, some of the aren't in the pics but we still love ya...

Getting into my socks...

Everyday our little one does something new to make us laugh, the last couple of days she has gone into her area we keep her socks, gets them out, throws them into the foyer. then goes back, picks them up, and puts them back. we have seen her do this repeatedly so i thought i would capture it on video. hope you enjoy.
