The end of our vacation...

It has been one action packed week. We have made our way home and are doing a ton of laundry and getting things back to normal. I last posted when we got home from the Mets vs Astros at Shea Stadium. The next day we didn't to much of anything but take the kids to the park a couple of times. They love going to the park up there. It is really the only thing you can do when you're a kid in the middle of a bustling city.

Wednesday, we took the subway into manhattan and went to central park. We walked all day, went to the zoo, and to the carnival. The kids went nuts over the rides. Even Addison loved it. She is a daredevil these days.

We went to the Yankees vs Redsox that night. We again had terrible seats, but to see the history in these amazing stadiums and watch that rivalry was awesome. Robert wore his Yankees hat but wouldn't let me where my Redsox hat...ended up being a good idea. As the game wore on and the blood alcohol level increased, the words started flying. Several people were thrown out of the game and one lady was arrested in front of her husband and son after going after the cop. it was crazy.

Thursday, we met up with one of robert's friends who is FDNY, he took us to his firestation. We really enjoyed seeing the old firehouse. We even chased down the firetruck going to a fire. There was no fire but we saw them in action. Mike was going to take us into manhattan to see some of the stations there, but all his friends were off playing golf. maybe next time. He then took us to his volunteer station around his house. Nothing like Ponderosa. Most of you have never seen Ponderosa but it is top of the line...This place blew them out of the water...flat screen tv's everywhere, lounges that looked like they belonged in a country club, and to top it off, a full service bar...stocked with everything for the members to enjoy whenever they want...i've never seen anything like it...

Thursday night, we went to coney island to watch a minor league baseball game. yes, i am baseballed out for the time being if any of you are wondering. It turned out the be better than both the major league games. The crowd was really into the game and it was a beautiful, cool night with the ocean in the backround.

i put up a slide show of most of the things we did...til next time.
